Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: March 15, 2025

Welcome to GizmoCritic!

Thanks for visiting our site. We know legal stuff isn’t the most exciting reading material, but it’s important we’re on the same page about how things work around here. These Terms & Conditions create a legal agreement between you (yes, you – the person scrolling right now) and GizmoCritic (that’s us – the tech-obsessed team behind this website).

By using our website, you’re agreeing to these terms. If you don’t agree with any part of this, we’re sorry to say you shouldn’t use GizmoCritic.

Let’s Talk About Who We Are

GizmoCritic is a technology review and recommendation site. We spend countless hours testing gadgets so you don’t have to waste your money on the bad ones. We’re real people with strong opinions about technology – not robots or algorithms pretending to be human.

Affiliate Relationships – How We Keep the Lights On

Here’s the deal: we have bills to pay. When you click on certain links on our site and make a purchase, we may earn a commission. These affiliate relationships help us create free content without plastering the site with annoying pop-up ads.

We want to be crystal clear about a few things:

  1. We pick products based on their merits, not commission rates. Sometimes we recommend products that don’t earn us a penny because they’re simply the best option.
  2. Our opinions can’t be bought. Manufacturers can send us free products (which helps us review more stuff), but that never guarantees a positive review.
  3. Prices shown on our site may not always be up-to-date despite our best efforts. Always check the final price before purchasing.
  4. We’ll always tell you when a link is sponsored or when we’ve received a product for free. No sneaky business here.

Your Part in All This

While using GizmoCritic, we ask that you:

  • Don’t do anything illegal (seems obvious, but lawyers make us say it)
  • Don’t try to hack our site or steal our content
  • Don’t impersonate us or pretend you’re affiliated with GizmoCritic
  • Don’t harass other users or our team members
  • Don’t use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to grab our content

We reserve the right to block anyone who causes problems, though we rarely have to do this because our readers are generally awesome people.

Content Ownership

The articles, images, videos, and other materials on our site took a lot of work to create. They belong to us. You’re welcome to share links to our content or quote small portions (with proper attribution), but republishing entire articles or using our stuff commercially without permission isn’t cool.

User Comments & Contributions

We love hearing your thoughts! When you comment on our articles or send us user submissions:

  • You keep ownership of your original content
  • You grant us permission to publish, display, and use your contributions
  • You confirm that your submissions don’t violate anyone else’s rights
  • You understand we may edit or decline to publish your submissions

We try to monitor comments but can’t catch everything immediately. If you see inappropriate content, please let us know.

Privacy Stuff

We respect your privacy and have a separate Privacy Policy that explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. Check it out if you’re into that sort of thing (and you should be!).

Disclaimers (The Part Our Lawyers Insist On)

While we strive for accuracy, we’re human. Sometimes we make mistakes or miss things. Our content is provided “as is” without warranties or guarantees of any kind.

We can’t guarantee that products we review will work the same way for you as they did for us. Tech is complicated, and your mileage may vary.

Our reviews express opinions based on our testing and experience. They’re meant to help inform your decisions, not make them for you.

Limitation of Liability

In plain English: if something goes wrong, we can’t be held financially responsible. Whether you buy a product we recommend that turns out to be a dud, or something else unfortunate happens while using our site, our maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid to use our site (which is zero, since it’s free).

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If we make significant changes, we’ll let you know by posting a notice on the site. Your continued use of GizmoCritic after changes means you accept the new terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of NEW YORK, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of USA, NEW YORK.
